Their site contains tips to lower your risk for conditions like hypertension (high blood pressure), type 2 diabetes and obesity. Your heart is the most important muscle in your body, keep it healthy!
Harvard School of Public Health- The Harvard School of Public Health is the best site when it comes to needing an explanation for any condition and have the most up to date nutritional information. They also have bilingual resources on many topics. They provide “how to” guides for nutritional challenges like lowering cholesterol and losing weight and fitness basics for safe and productive exercise.
Institute of Medicine- The Institute of Medicine is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing accurate and timely health information. They have the best bilingual resources out there on a variety of topics.
American Diabetes Association- Unfortunately, as Latinas we are at a higher risk for Diabetes. The American Diabetes Association provides free educational programs and resources in Spanish. They are number one when it comes to preventing the onset of diabetes and controlling diabetes. They host events all over the country, so find something near you!
